About this tool

The Cut List Optimiser packs your list of pieces into one or more stock lengths — timber, trim, tube or extrusion — to waste as little material as possible, allowing for saw kerf and end trim. There's a matching Sheet (2D) mode for panel nesting. It's built for estimators and tradies who want a practical cutting plan, not just a total length.

How to use it

  1. Enter your stock lengths, available quantity and cost.
  2. Set your saw kerf and end trim allowance.
  3. Add each piece with its length and quantity.
  4. Read the cut plan, efficiency and offcut total, then export or share it.

FAQ

Is the optimiser free to use?

Yes — building a cut list is free and unlimited.

What does Pro add?

Saving as PDF, the project file and CSV are all free. The PDF carries a small vishvaddi.com footer; Pro saves it without the footer.

Is my cut list uploaded anywhere?

No — it's calculated and stored in your browser; the share link just encodes your inputs in the URL.

What's the difference between this and Sheet mode?

This is the 1D (linear) optimiser for stock lengths; Sheet is the 2D panel-nesting version for sheet goods.
